BatteryNotifier is a handy little app for OS X that helps you keep tabs on your iOS devices so you never forget to charge them. It’s super useful because it can monitor the battery status of all your iOS gadgets connected to your WiFi network or linked to your Mac via USB.

How BatteryNotifier Works

When you open up BatteryNotifier, it starts looking for devices connected to the same WiFi as your Mac. You’ll see a small menu pop up in your status bar. This menu shows all the detected devices along with their names and a cool visual of their battery status.

Customize Your Battery Menu

If you want more details, you can tweak the settings in the BatteryNotifier Preferences. Here, you can choose to show the battery level in percentages, so you'll always know exactly how much juice each device has left.

Syncing Your Devices

To make sure BatteryNotifier gets the latest battery stats, you'll need to set up your iOS devices to sync via WiFi in iTunes. But don’t worry! If your devices are connected through USB, they’ll show up almost right away.

Status Bar Icon and Color Codes

During our tests, we noticed that BatteryNotifier uses a neat icon in the status bar that represents one of the monitored iOS devices' batteries. Plus, it uses color codes to let you know if any device is charging or needs some power. It even detects if a device is charging without being plugged into the computer!

Your Notification Center Buddy

This app also comes with a Notification Center widget that shows battery info right in your Today panel. And if any device’s battery drops below a certain level? You’ll get alerts so you're reminded to charge it up!

The Magic of WiFi Monitoring

BatteryNotifier takes advantage of service announcements sent out by iOS devices on a WiFi network. This way, you can keep an eye on all your gadgets’ battery statuses from anywhere at home.

No More Low Battery Surprises!

If any device's battery dips below a level you've set, BatteryNotifier will use Notification Center to alert you that it's time for some charging action!
