Back to the Future Interactive Screensaver is a fun throwback for fans of the classic trilogy! It all started back in August 2002 when those epic movies hit DVD here in Australia. Since I loved these films, I couldn't resist snagging a copy.

The Inspiration Behind the Screensaver

One cool extra on the DVD was some concept art and basic blueprints of the DeLorean. This got me inspired, and I decided to create a 3D model of it. But for some reason, I stopped working on it. Maybe I got distracted by something shiny or perhaps my ferret friends whisked me away!

The Request for a Screensaver

Fast forward to November, when the DVDs finally dropped in the US. Suddenly, everyone wanted a screensaver featuring this iconic car! After all that holiday hustle and bustle, I dusted off my half-finished model and set out to complete it.

A Unique Experience

This screensaver features our time-traveling hero, the DeLorean, cruising around an endless parking lot (originally meant to be Twin Pines Mall). Every now and then, it speeds up to 88 mph and zips through time! I've spent hours just watching it – it's pretty awesome! Dr. Emmet Brown and Marty McFly would totally approve!

Get in on the Action with Game Mode

If you feel like taking control instead of just watching, there's a Game Mode! Just press Space to start driving around. The controls are super simple:

• Up Arrow: Accelerate


• Down Arrow: Brake


• Left/Right Arrows: Turn


• Space Bar: Switch between normal and hover modes


• C: Change camera modes

This screensaver might not be perfect, but it's one-of-a-kind! Most stuff out there about Back to the Future is just boring slideshows. So if you find something better, go ahead and use it – just remember that complaining about free software might put you under some unfortunate voodoo curses!
