AutoWall is a super simple Windows app that lets you set any local GIF or video as your live wallpaper. It’s built on a well-known open-source wallpaper engine called Webbp (and MPV), and it was created with a little help from Autoit.
Getting started with AutoWall is a piece of cake! Just download the app's zip file, unzip it, and run the application using its default executable. After that, you’ll need to find your GIF or video file to load into the app.
Heads up though! Since AutoWall doesn’t support drag and drop, you’ll need to use the built-in Browser feature to locate your video or live wallpaper. Once you’ve found your file, just hit the “Apply” button and watch your wallpaper come alive!
If you ever want to go back to your old static wallpaper, just click on the “Reset” button. But remember, hitting reset will revert all changes and wipe out any configuration files you've set up, including your last choice.
The interface is pretty basic—there aren't many bells and whistles—but that’s okay! AutoWall does exactly what it promises, and it's really easy for anyone to use.
One cool feature worth mentioning is that you can set your live wallpapers to start automatically when Windows boots up. So every time you log in, you'll see your favorite animated backgrounds right away!
