macOS tires to switch to a connected audio output/input device as soon as it becomes available, which can be convenient, but it’s not always ideal. If, for instance, you want to use your Bluetooth headset but not its microphone, it can get very annoying.
Audio Device Blocker makes your life easier by preventing specific input or output devices from being used entirely. When your Mac attempts to switch to them, the app reverts to the previously used device or one or more fallbacks.
Audio Device Blocker is very easy to configure and unobtrusive. Once you’ve set things up, it will keep working in the background silently. It’s particularly useful if you use multiple third-party audio devices and have a strong preference for which should be used for sound input and output.
