What is ArtOptimizer FOR MAC?

ArtOptimizer

ArtOptimizer is a handy tool designed for Adobe Illustrator. If you've ever used LinkOptimizer for InDesign, you'll find some similarities with ArtOptimizer, but there are a few key differences.

What Does ArtOptimizer Do?

ArtOptimizer works by cutting down the size of linked images. It does this by getting rid of unnecessary image data that can slow things down. So, if you're dealing with large files, this software is a lifesaver!

How It Works

This tool automatically adjusts the image resolution and scales your images in Photoshop based on their sizes in your Illustrator document. Plus, it uses the target resolution you set. When it's done, it brings them back to Illustrator at 100%. It's super efficient!

Extra Features

But wait, there's more! ArtOptimizer also allows you to convert image colors automatically and apply those cool sharpening filters from Photoshop to make your images pop.

Standalone Application

You'll be happy to know that ArtOptimizer works as a standalone app. It processes whatever is currently open in Illustrator CS or CS2.

Key Differences from LinkOptimizer

Now, let's talk about some differences between ArtOptimizer and LinkOptimizer:

  • · No cropping of images.

  • · You need to check link statuses manually; ArtOptimizer won't do that for you.

  • · The supported formats vary: For Illustrator CS2 - EPS, TIFF, PSD, JPEG; and for Illustrator CS - EPS, PSD.
