Description

Application Explorer

Application Explorer is a handy little tool for making lists of files on CDs or DVDs. If you want to quickly create an index of everything on your disc, using a specialized program like this one is a smart move!

Easy to Use Right Out of the Box

This program is super easy to use because it doesn't need to be installed on your computer. You can just run it straight from where it's stored! The layout is pretty basic, but that's okay—it focuses more on functionality than fancy design.

Java-Based for Compatibility

One cool thing about Application Explorer is that it’s built with Java. This means it can work on almost any platform, which is great! However, keep in mind that this could require a bit more system resources to run smoothly.

Simple Scanning Process

Using Application Explorer is straightforward. You just pick what you want to scan and let the program do its magic! But there's a catch: it only works with specific file types.

BRW Files Required

The software needs BRW files, which are similar to INI text documents. Unfortunately, these are the only files Application Explorer can read right now. So if there isn’t a BRW file in the folder you choose, the software won’t be able to find any applications.

Features When BRW Files Are Present

If you do have a BRW file, then you're in luck! You'll be able to use features like 'Open Folder' and 'Open File'. Plus, there's an option to copy the path of any selected item by hitting the 'Copy Text' button.

Limitations of Application Explorer

While Application Explorer does its job well under certain conditions, it has some limitations. It only catalogs one type of file, which can be a bit frustrating since it doesn’t support many common formats. So, while it's simple and easy to edit, its usefulness might be limited if you're looking for something more versatile.
