Apper is a handy tool that gives you a cool KDE interface for PackageKit (or KPackageKit, if you prefer). This means you can easily manage your packages, apps, and updates across different Linux distributions. It’s super convenient because you only have to learn one application to use it on any distro!
This app makes life easier for Linux users. No more jumping between different tools! With Apper, everything is in one place. You can handle your installations and updates without stress.
We hope you enjoy using Apper. If you run into bugs or have suggestions for new features, let us know! Your feedback helps us make the app even better.
If you're ready to install Apper, just a heads up: there’s no warranty, so use it at your own risk! 😄 Here’s what you need:
Tip: After installing, make sure to log out and log back in so KDED can load the Apper plugin properly.
If you're feeling adventurous and want to compile Apper, follow these steps:
- $ cd Apper # where you extracted it
- $ mkdir build && cd build
- $ cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/ # must install in /usr so KDE finds it
- $ make
- $ su
- # make install
