Installing Apper: A Quick Guide


If you're ready to install Apper, just a heads up: there’s no warranty, so use it at your own risk! 😄 Here’s what you need:



Requirements:



  • PackageKit >= 0.6.17

  • KdeLibs headers of Kde4

  • KdeWorkspace

  • KDE >= 4.3



Tip: After installing, make sure to log out and log back in so KDED can load the Apper plugin properly.



The Compiling Process Made Easy!


If you're feeling adventurous and want to compile Apper, follow these steps:


- $ cd Apper # where you extracted it  
- $ mkdir build && cd build
- $ cmake .. -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr/ # must install in /usr so KDE finds it
- $ make
- $ su
- # make install
