Apparency is a tool that makes your life easier when it comes to understanding what’s going on with the apps on your Mac. Your operating system knows a ton about every app you open, but most of that info isn’t easy for you to find. That’s where Apparency steps in!

Get More Insights

With Apparency, you can dive deeper into any app bundle using Quick Look. Normally, Quick Look only shows basic details, but with this app, you’ll see much more. You can check out the app’s build number, CPU architecture, and even which version of macOS it supports.

Check App Security

You’ll also find out if the app is sandboxed or if it has been hardened and notarized. Plus, you can see its Gatekeeper status and the name of the certificate used to sign it. With just one key press, you get a solid overview of an app’s details and security status.

Dive Deeper into App Bundles

If you want to go further, all you need to do is drop an app onto Apparency’s Dock icon or select it from the File menu. A new window pops up showing all the contents of that bundle. Click on any item to see its complete details in the sidebar.

Analyze Executable Files

You can even open executable files, system frameworks, or app plugins separately for a closer look! The toolbar provides additional options if you're curious about signatures or want to inspect the Info.plist file and entitlements.

Explore Hidden Folders

Sometimes there are folders in an app bundle that aren’t supposed to have components but might still contain something interesting. If that happens, just choose Re-open with Options from the File menu to explore other locations too.
