Anchor Garden is a cool workbench that helps you learn the basics of data structures. It does this by using simple ideas like type, object, variable, and how they all connect in an object-oriented programming language. If you’re new to coding or just want to sharpen your skills, this tool is super helpful!

How Anchor Garden Works

One of the neat things about Anchor Garden is that it automatically creates source code based on what you do on the screen. So, it’s like having a coding buddy right there with you! Here’s how to get started:

• First, pick one of the “Type” options.


• Next, left-click in the [Variable] area. This will create a variable of the type you selected.


• If you click in the [Object] area, an object of that type will be created (you can use Class or Array).


• Just remember: any objects you create will disappear unless they are linked to variables.


• If all links are lost, those objects will vanish too.


• You need to match types when linking variables to objects.

Navigating Anchor Garden

You can zoom in using your mouse wheel! Just roll it towards where you want to focus. If you want to zoom into a specific area, try right-dragging around there. And if things get messy? Just hit the [ESC] key to reset your view.

Viewing Source Code

If you're curious about what’s happening behind the scenes, check out the [Extra] => [Source Code] menu! This opens up a window showing all that generated source code. Plus, if you want more control over your variables—like naming them or setting array sizes—you can disable [Extra] => [Automatic]. This gives you more flexibility!
