What is AmplifX?

AmplifX

AmplifX is a cool Windows app that helps you design new primers and check out primer collections. It's super handy for amplifying a fragment into a target sequence. The best part? It’s packed in a user-friendly workspace with plenty of settings to play around with. While it’s great for anyone, it really shines for those who know their stuff.

Easy Installation Process

Getting AmplifX set up is a breeze. The installation is quick and doesn’t require any special steps. Once you’re in, you’ll notice the interface has that classic look and feel. It splits into three panels: one for your target sequence, another for the primer list, and the last one to view all the info you need.

Working with Primer Lists

You can open primer lists from files in the XPL format—those are made with AmplifX before. For target sequences, you can use file types like ASC, ASCII, TEXT, TXT, GCP, FASTA, FAS, GB, STR, GENBANK or XDNA. So you’ve got options!

Features That Make Life Easier

The app comes loaded with features! You can search for specific primers, set your origin at the insertion point, run PCR tests, add and check all your primers easily. Plus, there’s this nifty slider to adjust speed and sensitivity while also setting the maximum strength of your amplicon.

No Issues Here!

During our tests with AmplifX, we didn’t run into any problems at all! It didn’t freeze up or crash on us. The response time to commands was great too! What’s more? It runs on very little CPU and memory so it won’t slow down your computer at all.

Help Is Available

If you ever get stuck or need guidance while using AmplifX, there’s help documentation ready for you. Overall, AmplifX serves its purpose well!
