Afloat

Afloat is a neat little Cocoa plug-in that gives you some cool options in the Window menu of many Mac apps. With Afloat, you can use the "Keep Floating" and "Make Transparent" commands to make your workspace super handy!

Keep Your Windows Floating

The Keep Floating feature is awesome! It makes sure that a window stays on top of everything else, even when you're switching between different apps. To keep a window afloat, just go to Window > Keep Afloat in the menu bar. You can also use a key shortcut or tweak other effects by picking Window > Adjust Effects.

Drag Windows Anywhere

You know how sometimes dragging a window can be tricky? Well, with Afloat, you can drag it from anywhere! Just hold down the control and command keys while dragging it around. It's super easy!

Make It Transparent!

If you want to change how see-through your windows are, Afloat has got you covered! You can make any window transparent or fully opaque whenever you want. To adjust transparency, just head over to Window > Transparency. You can also hit (page up) or (page down) on your keyboard or hold control and command while scrolling with your mouse wheel or trackpad.

Use Overlays for Easy Access

Overlays are like floating windows that won’t mess with your workflow! They allow you to see what’s there but won’t interfere with clicking on other windows underneath them. It’s perfect for multitasking without distractions.

Easily Find Your Files in Finder

If you're working on something and need to find its file quickly, Afloat makes it simple! If the current window shows a file (and has its icon in the menu bar), just use Show Window's File in Finder, and bam! The file pops right up in Finder.
