ActiveDock is a super cool application launcher that gives you a fresh take on the standard macOS dock. It’s designed to be better and packed with features, like showing window previews when you hover over app icons, plus it has themes and a handy start menu!
The awesome part? You can use ActiveDock just like the regular macOS dock, so switching over is a piece of cake! If you're already used to how Apple's dock works, you'll feel right at home.
With ActiveDock, bringing any app to the front is super simple. Just click on your favorites that you've pinned in the Favorites feature. No more digging through menus!
You can make ActiveDock look just how you want. It comes with tons of themes and lets you set custom icons for any apps you pin on your dock, along with the start menu, trash can, and even the 'Show Desktop' applets.
If there are apps you don’t need all the time, you can hide them! Just add them to your Excluded Apps list. They’ll disappear from view but are still easy to find in the right-click menu.
The contextual menu makes it super easy to adjust icon sizes or change where your dock sits on your Mac's screen—left, bottom, or right! You have options!
You can also switch up app icons by heading into the 'Custom Icons' tab in preferences. Just pick an app and load up your new icon—easy peasy!
A little heads-up: right now, dragging apps around in the dock isn’t available yet. But no worries! You can still use the Favorites feature to pin and rearrange some apps on the left side of your dock.
All in all, ActiveDock is a fantastic alternative to Apple’s default macOS dock. With extra perks like window previews and neat themes, it's definitely worth checking out!
