Aciqra

Aciqra is a cool open-source software that lets you explore the night sky right from your computer. Imagine tracking over 120,000 stars, all eight planets in our solar system, and even spotting comets and the sun and moon! It's like having your very own planetarium at home.

Easy to Use Interface

The interface is super simple and easy to understand. Whether you're a pro or just starting out, you won’t run into any issues while using it. The main window shows several buttons that give you quick access to all its features. Plus, it displays important info for what you're looking at, like the exact time (month, day, year, and hour), longitude, latitude, and elevation.

Explore Astronomical Objects

You can choose to show or hide different astronomical objects like stars, deep space stuff (like galaxies and nebulas), constellations, natural satellites, and even Earth’s shadow! If you want to save what you see on your screen, you can easily save images in BMP format right to your hard drive (Aciqra\\save).

Customizable Labels

By default, most stars and celestial bodies come with tags so you can identify them easily. But if you'd rather not see those labels? No problem! You can customize them as well—show brightness, color, common names or scientific names—it's all up to you. Just click on any object in the sky and Aciqra will pull up details like its type, coordinates, brightness level, surface brightness, and size.

Advanced Features

This tool opens alongside a command prompt window where you can make various changes if you're feeling adventurous. Inside the program files is a TXT file full of command lines that let you tweak things just how you want them.

Your Home Planetarium

Aciqra really shines as a home planetarium app that helps you explore the night sky from anywhere on Earth. It uses moderate CPU and memory resources while featuring drag-and-drop navigation for ease of use.
