Absinthe

Absinthe is a super handy tool that lets you jailbreak your A5 devices without being tied to a computer. It uses the 'corona' exploit by @pod2g, making it pretty popular among tech enthusiasts!

Preparing Your Device

Before you dive in, make sure to back up your device. Seriously, you don’t want to lose anything important! Next, go ahead and remove any passcode lock. Oh, and if you've set a backup password, remove that too.

Getting Started with Absinthe

The first thing you'll want to do is unzip the Absinthe .zip package. Place it somewhere easy to find on your computer.

Launching the Application

Now, double-click on the Absinthe icon to get things rolling. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable and hit that Jailbreak button!

Be Patient!

This part takes time! If you've got lots of stuff on your device, it might take even longer. Just hang tight! After your device reboots, Absinthe will still be working its magic for a little while longer. Wait until you see that it's done.

Installing Cydia

You’ll notice an Absinthe icon pop up on your springboard once it’s finished. Tap that icon to install Cydia and wrap up the process.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you find yourself stuck on the "wait for Absinthe to complete…" screen, don’t worry! Just tap Home and navigate to Settings > General > Network > VPN. Turn the VPN ON and acknowledge any error messages that come up—allowing your device to reboot.

No Need for Repeat Jailbreaks

If you've already jailbroken your device before and a newer version of Absinthe comes out, there’s no need to jailbreak again. You’re good as is!
